Open the door and try to make sense of an overused box, empty but full at the same time. Oct 22, 2007
You are entering a place of contradiction.

Or maybe just not mine. Actually I know you do you just don't comment. Is it because you have nothing to say? Or because you're thinking...hmmm? Anyway, I noticed when I took my blog from social networking sites interaction on my...

Subversify News Everyone! From now until December 31, 2011, Subversify will be donating all profits on sales of our store items, from both of our store fronts. Do your Holiday Shopping with us and we will donate 100% of the cash to Bridging the Gap which brings clean water to countries and areas that othewise would not have it. Also any donations you make to the magazine will be matched. How easy is that? You can purchase Subversify items by going to our home page and clicking the "Store" tab at the top. Check out Bridging the Gap @ http://www.bridgingthegapbygiving.org/Bridging_the_Gap/Home.html.
Oooo! New look for Multiply? Trying to improve or just stay alive? "When you don’t understand the nature and origin of thoughts, your thoughts use you." Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche Hola Subversives! You may have noticed Subversify is missing this week. No we have not been swept up with Anonymous, however we are getting too big for our britches, so we're being re-measured and will be back soon with a fine, dapper set of togs! I made the first all backyard garden salsa of the summer today which prompted me to think, in these tighter times, how is everyone else spending thier summer time? This week @ Subversify: Is there a Viral Pedophile Attack happening? I dunno, come and see what you think; Grainne interviews Canadian musician Clara Engel; Episode 3 of "Raining Cats and Dogs"; Eddie addresses The Runaway Society and Obedience to Authority; The David is wondering about stuff…mainly religion and its influence; and John Tannen interviews our Alien contributor, Madama Mama. All @ http://www.subversify.com This week @ Subversify: Jane Stillwater brings us Iran vs. KFC; South Sudan, A Tragedy in the Making from Bill the Butcher; Part 2 of Raining Cats and Dogs from our interim editor Tashi; Eddie talks educational liberation in From Jail to Yale; And W.D. Noble assesses Obama’s CEO capability in Hope Is Not A Strategy. Also there’s still time to see what The Late Mitchell Warren has to say about the Oscar nominations! All @ http://www.subversify.com For the last two years in February we have put out an article titled "Subversive Love Notes" in which we gush lovingly on subversive individuals, organizations and websites that we have come across. This is not limited to current events as the first year I included several historical folks. For ideas check these two articles:
http://subversify.com/2009/02/04/subversive-love-notes/
http://subversify.com/2010/02/12/subversive-love-notes-2010/
Now, February is almost upon us and as our site has grown and we have many new writers I would like everyone to have an opportunity to contribute. We also want to invite readers and new writers who may not have found their way yet to our site to contribute. You can either write something up yourself or just give me a name and I will research it. The choice is yours.
It is my hope that some of our international writers will weigh in with people and organizations I have never even heard of. It would also be kick-ass to get some small-time under the radar entries. For example in comments one year Karla talked about the parking meter fairies. That is grass roots subversion.
Of course the whole wikileaks/Julian Assange/Anonymous is an easy one, we all respect them and I may decide to include them-especially if I don't get enough suggestions, but let's think outside of what is in the mainstream news already.
I look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
This week @ Subversify: Why the United States Fears Russia: Part II, The Power of Resources; Why Agribusiness doesn’t work by Jane Stillwater; The Politics of Resentment and The Practice of Forgiveness by Edward-Yemil Rosario; Pharmacy Wars by Grainne Rhuad; The Conclusion of The Empire’s Last Stand by Bill The Butcher and Madama Mama pulled from the Subversify vault in The Case Of The Evicted Box Owners. Throughout his career, Woody Guthrie experimented with various lyrical and musical styles. However, his best work invariably came from writing and singing about the causes and the people that he felt closest to: the workers, the unions, the poor...

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
While the cover art and title captured my attention. The book did not. Lazily written by Seth Grahame-Smith (in my opinion) it's easy to take a classic and...
